Addressing your blessing 💌
Hey peach,
The home stretch is before us! Are you ready to smash out these final weeks like an utter boss? Yeah, I thought you would be.
Hands up — who’s planning to send greeting cards this December? Hanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Yule, or non-denominational cards, it’s card-sending season, no doubt. It got me thinking: why not combine card sending with a bit of word magick? Like a letter bomb but nice.
Here’s how we’ll do it…
Ingredients
Holiday-themed greeting cards of your choice
Your favourite pen
A white candle (taper, tea light, scented candle…whatever you have on hand, hun!)
A notebook
Method
1) Start by making a nice cup of tea or spiced coffee (or spiked coffee). Take a few grounding, calming breaths and light your candle. Maybe you’d like to get some festive tunes on the go for some quiet background ambience? Set the scene as you see fit.
2) Grab your notebook and pen and start scheming up a lovely message for your cards. You can whip up a poem, a clever piece of prose, a heartfelt blessing or whatever you feel moved to write. This is your word magick, so make it count in a way that only you can.
3) Once you’ve got a draft you’re happy with, hold the notebook and imagine your well-wishes flowing from your heart, down your arms, through your hands and into those words. Imagine them glowing with good intentions.
4) When you feel ready, start writing your greeting cards. Each time you copy out your message/poem/blessing, I want you to dial back into that feeling of well-wishing and good intention.
5) Rinse and repeat until all your cards are written, signed, stamped, and addressed. If you want to get really fancy, you could design a festive sigil to add to the back of the card or the back of the envelope. You could even use colour magick when choosing your envelopes and ink. Then post those puppies!
This cute little charm puts your skills to work in a way that’ll lift someone’s spirits. After all, it’s been a cruddy year — this is a fun opportunity to put some joy back out into the world.
Have fun with it, babe!

🔮 Freelance focus: party on with the Four of Wands
Could there be a better card for the end of the calendar year? Me thinks not! The Four of Wands signifies community, harmony, and celebration. It’s a card that welcomes you to the warm bosom of home with open arms and a glass of sherry.
In writerly terms, this card signifies support from colleagues and teams. It’s also a good sign when it comes to financial stability. The Four of Wands is a social card. Maybe it’s a sign to RSVP to that festive party invite or organise your own gathering?
Things have been tough this year for the employed and freelance alike. This card feels like a fab opportunity to let loose and enjoy the revelry. Have at it, love! 🎉
