The Bi Pod Bulletin
So, what have you been thinking about?
I have been thinking about how to best hold and show up for what’s going on in the world, right now and also all of the time. There are always many things happening that are bigger than me; there is always difficulty and tragedy that is more severe than anything I’ll probably ever know in my own personal reality. I am trying to figure out how much and what kind of engagement with world events that don’t directly affect us is helpful for the people who are affected. What does community and solidarity look like in these moments? What is useful, and what isn’t? Of course, if I knew the answers to these questions, I wouldn’t still be thinking about them.

The Podcast
In last week’s episode, we talked about queer joy from our childhood, and about supporting trans youth in Texas and queer youth in Florida as their states pass laws that threaten their safety and privacy. You can listen to the episode wherever you get your podcasts.
Resources
As promised, here is a list of resources for folks who wish to directly support queer kids in Texas and Florida. If you know of any other resources or mutual aid funds, please send them our way so we can share!
The Trevor Project is a national organization dedicated to preventing suicide and supporting LGBTQ young people in crisis with free hotlines and digital support.
The Transgender Law Center offers many resources for trans folks, and aims to build towards a long-term, national, trans-led movement for liberation. There are many ways to donate and support these efforts.
The Queer Texas Crisis Fund distributes funds to LGBTQ+ serving nonprofit organizations that provide emergency relief to communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
Transgender Education Network of Texas has an emergency relief fund program that you can donate to directly, and that trans folks can request funds from directly.
Transathlete.com offers state by state resources and toolkits for supporting trans folks in your state.
Prism Florida offers educational resources for queer youth and their families.
The Orlando Youth Alliance provides a safe space for LGBTQ youth in Central Florida through educational and recreation programs.
