Merch Announcement! The Bi Pod Bulletin - January 2025
Happy New Year! (?)
I (Christina) finally read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo over the holiday break. As you may know, I don’t read very much fiction, in part because I get overwhelmed by too many fiction recommendations. But, I decided to pick a frequently suggested queer novel to read over the break, and ended up with Evelyn Hugo. For me, the beginning was a little hard to get into, mostly because I’m just not that shocked by the idea that a celebrity could be married 7 times throughout a long life. But once the story picked up (aka once things got gay), I really really loved it. I love flawed women and complicated relationships, and Taylor Jenkins Reid did an excellent job of crafting several of each. So, if you are also late to the Evelyn Hugo party, and you’re looking for one more vote of confidence to add it to your to be read pile, this is it!
The Podcast
This month, we put out our annual Queer Ahead episode about the things we’re looking forward to in 2025, and an episode about relationships and AI. Today’s brand new episode is about Wicked, which we think is a very queer film and, more specifically, a direct allegory for what is happening right now to trans folks here in the United States.
