đŸ«„ Stop dreading “What do you do?”

let’s loosen it up a little

Banner with the words "mutiny against the mundane!" alongside a waving pirate flag, and text below reading "clever tactics & graceful roguery for culture carriers charting their own course" on a parchment-like background.

You know that half-second clench in your gut when you’re meeting someone new and they ask “What do you do?”

The ugh feeling of falling back on a script that, frankly, is kinda boring even to you.

Let’s do better!

That’s what we’ll play with at Remix & Rewrite Your Professional Story, a free CreativeMornings virtual FieldTrip I’m leading on April 1, 2025 at 3:30pm EDT. No foolin’!

CreativeMornings Fieldtrips event flyer for "Remix & Rewrite Your Professional Story" workshop on April 1, 2026, at 3:30pm EDT, featuring a QR code for registration and text about playful writing experiments to reshape work journeys.

(There’ll be a recording for registrants if you can’t make it live.)

We’ll do a series of playful writing exercises that will help bust you out of your ugh-inducing canned intro. So you can talk about who you are and what you do in ways that excite you. And make others go “Oh, that sounds awesome!” and dive deeper into conversation.

Even if you’ve tried rewriting your bio 100 times, this might give you something that sticks.

This session is built on an activity I first ran inside CARE that had people suddenly realizing they didn’t have to stay locked into one fixed “work persona.” There were multiple laugh reactions in the chat. It was a fun time.

Think of this like a little spring cleaning for your self-definition. So you can head into your new season of networking with some fresh, zesty zip.

Here’s what surprised people last time.

this was a great creative outlet and a cool writing prompt for my linkedin posts

LOVED how writing the prompts shifted my story, my self-narrative. I am in charge of it vs letting the all parts of the past dictate my story.

I was not expecting to reach so much into my creativity, and seeing what others shared in the chat was also really inspiring!

This was so fun. I'm a copywriter by trade, but writing about myself is so hard. This workshop gave me new and unexpected ways in for crafting my own story along with a sense of freedom rather than overwhelming dread. Thanks!

This is the kind of thing we do inside CARE. This email is letting you know about the FieldTrip, as a free way to work with me. If you like it, CARE doors are open until April 3, and FieldTrippers will get a discount code to join the community.

Hope to see you at the FieldTrip, .

Yours in fun, frolic, and dreaming up new dreams,

Rachel
