brought to you by Kindred Soil
Dear ,

Welcome to August's newsletter (a few days early to ensure you get to use the discount code for the workbook should you want to!).

As you will have seen in the previous email, I am starting to take a bit of a step back this month, but I won't be disappearing completely - read on to find out how you can continue to connect with me and Kindred Soil until I am back doing live events again...

In this newsletter you'll find:
  • Lammas Reflection Prompts & my own sharings on these
  • Access to the NEW Self-Paced Workbook for celebrating Lammas! Including special discount code for mailing list community
  • An update from me about my new venture / space I have created over on Substack...
Lammas Blessings and Reflection Prompts

Arriving at the peak of summer, Lammas translate to 'loaf mass', this festival marks the 'grain harvest', where we would gather the grain and celebrate with creating loaves.

While Lammas is a time for recognising growth, it is also recognised that there is an element of sacrifice to the process of harvesting. The removal of shelter for small animals in the wheat fields, the clearing of what has been growing... And this leading to opportunity and creation - baking our grain into a nourishing loaf, all of our own making.

I have found it so interesting to learn about the themes of sacrifice around Lammas, and around the idea of harvest (as well as the legend of John Barleycorn). And it has felt pertinent for me at a time of big personal shifts and change. I can see that I have grown (metaphorically and physically!) over the last seasons, and have huge gratitude for this growth, and also recognise that growth and harvests can bring sacrifice and change, which can also be scary, can cause grief too. This all part of the seasons of life.

More than one thing can be true, and I like to spend time reflecting on and making space for this sometimes. There can be an expectation that our perspective on life and its changes will fall into a binary of being either 'good' or 'bad'. But we are complex beings, with wonderful and multi-layered ways of experiencing the world. Allowing ourselves to be in the grey, to be complex and full beings can be quite liberating and nourishing in its own way - allowing all parts of our experience to be heard and held.

My invitation to you for this month...

Should you want to accept it... is to spend some time with these prompts - engaging with them in whatever way feels most supportive to you.

🌿 Spending time reflecting on the ways you have grown this season
🌿 Recognising the ways you may have already or may need to in the future make some form of sacrifice in order to harvest this growth.
🌿 Allowing yourself to bathe in the joy and pride of what you have been / are creating - whatever that may be, big or small

I would love to hear your experience of these invitations - please do feel free to share them with me directly or to come over to instagram and connect with the community (I'll be sharing a post around this soon).

Self-Paced Workbooks

Following the lovely feedback for the Summer Solstice Self-Paced Workbook (still available in Digital Resource Shop) I am delighted to announce the second in the series, which is ready in time for the festival...

Lammas Self-Paced Workbook -and as an extra thank you for being part of this community, I have created a discount code for this, which is valid from 28th July - 4th August (code is 'lammas23')

Offerings to come...

Although I am finishing up my live offerings and coaching for the beginning of August, I will still be working behind the scenes to try to prepare some more self-paced offerings that you will be able work through in your own time. These should hopefully include:

🌽 Autumn Equinox Self-Paced Workbook
🌽 A FREE offering around the 5 pathways to connect with nature

These will be shared with you as soon as they are ready. You can also read below about keeping in touch and connected during my time away from live delivery of events...
A new way to connect with me and others from the community and beyond!

While I take a break from live events and surrender to the growing need for me to slow down, I wanted to find a different way to connect with all of you, with my work and to create a space for exploring and reflection.

I felt drawn to longer form sharing, and a slower pace - and so I have decided to experiment with creating a space on Substack...

"Tender Being with Harriet Hamid-Collett"

My intention is to allow this to be a space for exploring wider range of topics, some personal some professional - most overlapping both. Experimenting and reflecting on new areas and topics - some of which I imagine I will end up weaving into offerings at some point in the future...

This won't be specifically 'Kindred Soil' as a space (and I haven't imported/merged mailing lists - I want you to be able to choose to sign up if you want to). My plan is that it will cover a wider range of topics, some more personal, but also it will inevitably include my areas of work, as these are personal and meaningful to me. Please do come check it out if you are interested, I'd love to connect with you there!

I will continue to share on the Kindred Soil Instagram and mailing list whenever I can during my time away, and I'm delighted to stay connected in whatever ways work for you.

Thank you all for your engagement and support and feedback over the last year - it has meant more than you know and I very grateful.

I recently got a roll of film developed and wanted to share some of the photos -

Left image shows film photo of waves in a blue sea, taken from a cliff top. Right image shows film photo of Harriet (a white woman with ginger hair) taking a photo of her reflection in a window, with a field lined with trees behind her.
