A Reluctant Spring and Some Prompts...
It has felt like a very reluctant or indecisive start to Spring where I am this year... we've had snow, rain, sunshine - sometimes all in one day!
I shared a few weeks ago about a discussion that we had at a workshop I was attending about seasonal 'Ecosomatics' (an emerging field of combining nature connection and somatics - an area I am very passionate about as you might imagine!) about how the natural seasons and calendar are being disrupted by climate change. They are less defined and less predictable, and that we could be experiencing this mirrored internally in some ways, as well as a sense of grief, anger, fear around the climate crisis.
I have definitely been feeling some of this uncertainty mirrored in my internal landscape. This is in part due to lots of life changes like moving across the country! We have had a couple of weeks of heavy and pretty consistent rain here, and I have noticed some feeling of frustration and a bit of gloom creeping in... but I also had a beautiful moment a few days ago of sitting inside next to the window, listening to the heavy drops of rain landing outside - I felt a sense of calm and also a moment of acknowledging that perhaps the rain was what the land needs right now. It has also made me feel very grateful for the days of sunshine that we have had yesterday and today.
At the end of this month we will reach Beltane (details of the next online event listed below!) This is the midpoint between spring and summer. And now that it feels like perhaps we are tipping more solidly into spring (although who knows..!) it feels like we can start to embrace this time for inspiration and growth.
My invitation to you for this month...
Should you choose to accept it... Is to start opening up more to this time of growing light and inspiration, and taking advantage of the fertile grounds to plant the seeds for the future.
Here are some journal/reflection prompts to support you to start exploring:
The prompts are:
🌱 What seeds or intentions do you want to plant for the coming season?
🌱 What would you like to harvest in the Autumn?
🌱 Where do you want to give space for growth?
