Just A Summer Quickie: ENNIES Voting, PDF Sale!

Welcome, favoured adventure-folk, to the TEETH newsletter! This is a (mostly) weekly (monthly?) transmission about our explorations in the very secret land of Tabletop Roleplaying-Games. We made a whole bunch of them!

What appears within this letter is written and compiled by veteran game critic and designer, Jim Rossignol, and former Mojang alumni and famed illustrator, Marsh Davies. Why not come and join us over on the TEETH Discord! Free tooth emojis for everyone!

  1. Hello you.

  2. Links!

Hello, you.

Please do!

Just a brief update this time, you know, because Summer Things. If you are looking for GOLD TEETH information then please take a look at the last big update.

The first thing is we’re nominated for Best Free Product for our Pay What You Want efforts with FALSE KINGDOM. You can vote for it here (place it at 1, ideally). There are some really excellent games on there (check out Grimwild if you haven’t already) so we are ESTEEMED company. Please do support us! Stuff like the ENNIES gets our stuff out there and recognised. It’s very clear to us that the biggest issue in TTRPGs is people finding what they’re actually going to be interested in, and although our megaphone is big, it really is not big enough.

There are some amazing games in the Product Of The Year category, which truly demonstrates what a rich time we are in: Mythic Bastionland, Doomsong (more on that soon), Land Of Eem, Triangle Agency, Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast. I would put all of these at 1 if I could.

ALSO: because it is Summer Time and because we do want to make the most of that megaphone I was talking about, we’ve put all the TEETH PDFs on sale at one Third Off for a week. Please, if you are a regular reader, use this as an opportunity to pick something up and support the newsletter.

This includes: TEETH Core Rules, the full game PDF, of 320 pages of Vale horrors. MORE TEETH, our expansion filled with Hogmen and wondrous, monstrous artifacts. Stranger & Stranger, our standalone game of cursed villagers attempting to save their home (and pigs) from abomination. And of course Blood Cotillion, our blood shrine-destroying, husband-finding masterpiece.

We know you will have fun with some or all of this, so go get them if you do not already own them!

Marsh & Jim

  • Friend Of TEETH, Alex Wiltshire, has produced a new rule system based on our conversations from GOLD TEETH. It’s called Fortune Dark. It spins off from the new Ship’s Luck system for GOLD TEETH that we talked about last time.

  • Quinns talked DOOMSONG. “Doomsong is a game that reads like the authors grew up Christian and are trying to exorcise (or at least parley with) some of those demons. In other words, where MÖRK BORG is Death Metal, Doomsong is a hymn.”

  • Not exactly TTRPG-centric, but don’t miss this article on Andor from friend-of-TEETH Will Wiles.

  • Our other friends, THE PANIC TABLE, are running a 75-person game of Mothership at GenCon.

  • Gillen does a big download on how games treat companions.

  • Do you ever read Game Mastery books like these? We’re very interested in compiling advice so it’d be great to know what people have found most useful! If you want to share any thoughts on this please do so in the comments or say hi on the Discord!
