Sneak Peek at The End

Hey! Just a quick one for funsies.

Here's a sneak peek from the play (called "The End") that I'm writing (currently in fairly early development). I'm leaning into synthesising my poetry and some of my other creative work. So this scene/poem/whatever the hell is here for your reading enjoyment:

X

A queen emerged from sauna steam,

fur-covered from head to toe,

textures tempting,

Her eyes were

 A1: (sung) Hungry

A2: (sung) Dreaming

A3: (sung) Roaming

A4: (sung) Raw

We locked into the you-know-what-I-want-and-I-know-what-you-want-and-we-will-never-have-this-moment-again stare,

looked down and his mouth was

A1: (sung) Begging

A2: (sung) Wide

A3: (sung) Tight

A4: (sung) Waiting

Between sharp breaths I could almost hear Hemphill shout

A1: THIS

A2: NUT

A3: MIGHT

A4: KILL

A1: KILL

A2: KILL

A3: KILL

ALL: KILL

ALL: US

On my part that was a lie,

I knew full well I could not die,

so we fucked like fags with no tomorrow,

while all I had was tomorrows.

My

A1: (sung) Flesh

A2: (sung) Blood

A3:(sung) Sinew

A4: (sung) Soul

Was so used to feigning the dance of mortality,

the rhythm without the blues.

If only I could give a little of this so-called gift:

A1 - To  - [A1 improvs a description of a person based on research, but made up on the spot, should be more about a feeling than a biography - like "Marcus who loved the moment where sun, sea and sky touched"

A2 - [as above]

A3 - [as above]

A4 - [as above]

[After their lines they start to say name after name after name overlapping over and over until the music kicks in, you as a director decide how long that is]

I’m less online lately, but whsiper on the winds and maybe you’ll fine me! Always appreciate your support whether that’s verbal, financial (ko-fi.com/tayowrites) or whatever else.
