If it feels weird to receive emails from artists and small businesses marketing their creations in this post election week/month, I assure you, it feels equally as weird for us to do it.
This quarter is when we receive the highest amount of income for our work, that often sustains us through the next year. We’ve been working on our art and preparing the materials for these releases for a long time; I’ve been working on the OPIA Collection since the beginning of the summer, and the idea came long before that.
Releasing our work in this moment is important to us for our survival, and we aren’t trying to intentionally ignore the grief, fear, and uncertainty that so many are feeling. We are feeling those things too. And we believe in our work. It’s important, it’s needed, it’s resistance.
And resistance is sacred.

New products in the shop
OPIA Collection
I’m getting ready to release my fall collection- OPIA- later this month and wanted to give you a peek at one of the prints!
OPIA is the Taino word for ancestor spirits, and in this collection, I explore the idea of our ancestors living their lives parallel to us. Whether doing their own daily tasks, interacting with us, comforting us, or providing for us behind the scenes, like Ana is providing water for the waterfall here:
All of the opia’no (plural for opia) in my collection are based on my actual ancestors from Borikén (the pre-colonial name for Puerto Rico). Ana was my grandmother, born in Caguas.
I’m also sharing little timelapse snippets of the process of making some of the prints over on Instagram.
Dates
You’ll get early access to the collection starting around November 18th. You’ll get an email from me with the link to the Early Access Shop.
I’ll send out another email the day before the public release around the 25th.
Then one last email before the collection closes in the first week of December.
New products
I’ve added a lot of new products- shirts, totes, and mugs- to the shop this month. I am working on adding journals, but I’m not sure when they’ll be listed.
