TGT - 20th October 2026 - Sydney Opera House
Returning to our occasional series on World Landmarks and tourism. The Sydney Opera House is simply iconic and I would guess many young people recognise the building even if they have no idea what or where it is.
It was interesting to me when reading about the design that Danish architect Jørn Utzon had no idea how to build the distinctive sail-roof when he designed it and it was a problem that was still not solved when it was selected as the winning design and construction was well underway!
Discuss world-travel, the value of iconic design and which building is most iconic and distinctive in your town.
