Last of the samples from the last 3 years. I hope if you’re new you’ve seen what we’re about and are looking forward to sharing TGT with your students next week.

We love art at TGT, which is perhaps surprising for a couple of science teachers - but we’re both convinced that making and appreciating art is what makes us human. Which is one reason the story of the Lascaux cave paintings is so extraordinary. It shows that humans have been making art for as long as there have been humans.

But there are many more aspects to the Lascaux story to discuss; How 18-year-old Marcel and his friends must have felt discovering these paintings. What the humans who painted them 17,000 years ago were thinking. And how just 7 years of modern human visitation caused so much damage the caves had to be resealed and a replica built nearby, to the original site could be preserved.

This slide has two versions. One with more text and another with fewer words and larger pictures. Teachers may need to fill in the additional info verbally for students from the wordy slide.

This is the format we’ve used at TGT for the last year and how we’ll deliver new slides next week, starting on Tuesday. See you then.
