From Su Penn: No October Poetry Readalong

Friends, this is the second month in a row that the third Sunday of the month has arrived out of the blue. I've been doing a zoom reading of poetry on a particular topic (Celebrating Butches and Erotic LGBTQ Poetry went very well over the summer), but time seems to be moving too quickly for me to keep it up for now. I'm going to take a hiatus. I'll let you know when I'm able to start up again.

In the meantime, I've got a couple of ideas simmering, so look for news about those, probably starting after the new year. I've been toying with the idea of a "what makes a book good" book group, centered on queer romance, and I'd like to see that happen. Also, I recently did some reading by George Saunders on his method of running writing workshops, and it has got me thinking about possibly offering a critique group along his excellent model, as well as the Saturday morning generative workshop that's been ongoing for the past six months or so.

A new session of the Saturday writing workshop will begin in early December. And remember, if you'd like to give it a try but Saturday morning at 10 eastern doesn't work for you, feel free to suggest a time that does, and I'll see if I can drum up enough business to make a go of it.

Cheers,

Su
