Newsletter #03: Builders Gonna Build
Week 3: Builders Gonna Build
This week was all about building.
Building our team culture.
Building our skills.
Building actual PCs.
Let’s catch you up.
Team Roles + Genius Zones
Now that our meetings are rolling, we’re dialing in how we work together—clarifying roles, setting realistic goals, and keeping momentum. The tricky part? We’re all volunteering our time right now. But the shared mission is strong, and we’re building something we know will last.
To help us understand each other’s strengths and work styles, the whole team took the Working Genius assessment this week. It gave us incredible insight into how we naturally contribute—and helped us identify what kind of help we’ll need to bring in next.
If you haven’t taken it, it’s worth checking out!
Game Concept Decisions Are In
At this week’s meeting, we made some big creative decisions for our first game. We’re going with:
A 3D environment
Robot players for our game of tag
We’ll be sharing some early sketches and concept art in the next newsletter, so keep your eyes peeled!
PC Building Adventures
Game development takes power—literal computing power. So this week, several team members have started building their own PCs.
Here’s what that looks like in real time:
- Researching and ordering compatible parts
- Watching YouTubers who’ve done it before
- Deep-diving into Reddit threads for troubleshooting
- Geeking out over airflow, mounts, and maintenance
If you follow Daniel’s Devlogs (he’s on YouTube, TikTok now too), you’ll see the tools we’re getting to know. This is just the beginning.
Want More Behind-the-Scenes?
We’ll be sharing more PC builds, game design updates, and development tips on social soon—so come say hi!
And thanks for being part of this. We’re still just getting started, but your encouragement means the world.
