New game release: forum.crypt

I'm very excited to get my new horror game, forum.crypt, out into the world. All the links and details about the project are below.

Forum.crypt: a game of investigation, horror, & deception on the early net

forum.crypt is my new horror game which I've released just in time for good ol' spooky season. You can get your copy here. There's even a few community copies, so if you need one be sure to grab one while they last.

forum.crypt is a GM-less pick-up-and-play tabletop RPG, in the same vein as one of my other projects, Bar the Windows, Bolt the Doors. Unlike Bar the Windows, forum.crypt is more of a social storytelling game. In it, all players assume the role of forum users at the turn of the millennium, taking it in turns to investigate retro mysteries and get into paranormal shenanigans. On the surface the users work together, but some may have secret agendas...

Playtesting this game was a blast of creepypasta-esque hijinks and wild nostalgia, and I hope you get as much joy out of it as I have. It also works really well for playing online. We played by chatting over a voice call while writing the user's posts out in text chat, and I thoroughly recommend trying out that format.

The game was created for the Death and the Internet Jam. I was immediately struck by the opportunities an old forum setting would have as a kind of Mafia/Werewolf type game. The project completely outgrew my initial expectations, and clocks in at 44 pages. I even learnt how to do pixel art for it. Here's another sample.

Spooky stuff. If you get a chance to read and play let me know what you think, feedback is always appreciated, and thanks for reading!
