Preorder…and be DOOMED!
DOOM COMES FOR THE AVENGERS…
I’m about two weeks late in announcing this, but hey Mom…I’m writing the Avengers! Well, the SUPERIOR AVENGERS, anyway. Kicking off in April, Superior Avengers is a six-issue One World Under Doom tie-in, in which Kristoff Vernard, favored son of Doom, is tasked with assembling a team of Avengers to carry out his father’s will.
You may recognize the names—Killmonger, Doctor Octopus, Ghost, Abomination, Onslaught, Malekith—but I promise you do not know these Avengers just yet. I’m lucky to be paired with Luca Maresca (X-Men Forever, Children of the Vault) on this book, and Luca knocked the designs for our fearsome crew out of the park.
As I said in the Marvel.com announcement, introducing new characters to the 616 comes with a lot of pressure. Introducing entire new teams just multiplies that feeling. Luca and I (and perhaps an unannounced special guest…) are swinging for the freaking fences to make this cast more epic, more intense, and more impactful than you could guess. These are Doom’s Avengers—they aren’t going to play softball. I can’t say too much more about them at this stage, but check out R.B. PREORDER OR DIE
Actually, please live. Things have been pretty dire around *sweeps arm widely* everywhere lately. But I’m happy to have SOME good news: Barnes & Noble’s several-times-a-year PREORDER SALE just went live today, February 5th, until Friday, February 7th, meaning you can preorder nearly an upcoming book for a whopping 25% off suggested retail price. Which, yes, in almost every case beats that other online retailer.
I treat the preorder sale as my primary book-buying event of the season, and will be using it to snatch up some choice horror comics, like Adam Syzm’s Little Visitor & Other Abductions, as well as some of the prose novels I’m most looking forward to this year, like Nat Cassidy’s When the Wolf Comes Home and Gretchen Felker-Martin’s Black Flame, among others.
But I’d be remiss not to plug my own stuff, especially since several hardworking publicity and marketing folks from my various publishers reached out to encourage me to do so. So the upcoming Steve Foxe books eligible for this promotion include:
