Environmental Concern: Protect Badin Lake
From the organization Protect Badin Lake:
Dear Concerned Neighbors,
Alcoa’s Clean Water Permit expires this month. They have submitted a renewal application and several local organizations have submitted the many reasons to deny the submitted application.
There is going to be a meeting open to the public on November 16th to address the many concerns and educate the community. You are invited! There will be short presentations including a historical overview of the issues, the ongoing concerns and the environmental injustice affecting the West Badin Community. Yadkin Riverkeeper, Concerned Citizens of West Badin, Protect Badin Lake, Duke Environmental Law Clinic and Southern Environmental Law Clinic will all be present to answer all questions.
Please join us on Wednesday, November 16th at 5:30 at The Atrium Health meeting room (Family and Education Center at the main hospital located at 301 Yadkin St, Albemarle). Light refreshments and drinks will be served starting at 5:30 with the meeting beginning at 6:00.
There is strength in numbers!!!! Please show your support for all the hard work we are doing to protect our lake!
