CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT
CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT... This month, we're featuring Jim Gasowski, who built this FarmBoy using steel and aluminum he got from Speedy.
He says:"Here is a project I just finished in September It's a double sized FarmBoy. All the large blocks (3) of aluminum and large steel came from Speedy, you had the big pieces. I also built the standard size one, sn #003 a few years ago and it ran so well I had to built a bigger one, just had to wait to get a bigger lathe! Weighs about 48 lbs."

WHAT YOU'RE SAYING... "Friendly, patient and knowledgeable staff, not to mention the only company that would do my small residential project."

DID YOU KNOW?
DID YOU KNOW...? ...that researchers are one step closer to the 'Holy Grail' of structural materials?
Normally in metals, there's a tradeoff between strength and ductility. According to Easo George, the chair for advanced alloy theory and development at ORNL and UT, defeating that tradeoff has long been a "holy grail of structural materials" which will "enable a new generation of lightweight, strong, damage-tolerant materials." Now, George's research team has designed a custom alloy of iron, nickel, aluminum, and titanium with nanoprecipitates of carbon, zirconium, and boron, and carefully controlled the size and spacing of the precipitates, resulting in a material that had both improved strength, and ductility.
