Congratulations to Robert Thompson, the winner of our 2026 Spotlight Contest! He built this butterfly bench for his wife out of 5/8" square tubing and 3/8” round bar. He says:
“Tubing was hand formed and round bar scrolls were forged, and all mig welded together.”

Currently, the aluminum from vehicle body panels can’t be reused in critical automotive components due to impurities which make its composition unpredictable.
Now, researchers developed a formula for an alloy, dubbed RidgeAlloy, that can be melted down and recast to contain the correct quantities of elements to ensure ideal strength, corrosion resistance, and ductility.
