Did You Know...? ...that researchers have developed a new technique for "armoring" stainless steel and other alloys?
The "armor" coating can reduce the wear and tear from friction and improve resistance to extreme temperatures. The coating is made of a substance called hexagonal boron nitride, and is applied with a procedure called atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition. This process could end up being useful for everything from solar panels to aerospace turbine blades. Learn more in the full article here.
