CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT
CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT... George Britnell, the winner of our 2021 Spotlight Contest, built a 1/12 scale model of a 1912 Galion leaning wheel road grader. He says:
"It's made from [360 brass](http://www.speedymetals.com/c-8195-brass.aspx), [303 stainless steel](http://www.speedymetals.com/searchsuper.aspx?Material=Stainless%20Steel&Grade=303) and [1144 steel](http://www.speedymetals.com/searchsuper.aspx?Material=Steel&Grade=Stressproof%20(1144)). With measuring, making drawings and building I have approximately 1200 hours in it."
"The model is completely functional with all features working. All worm and miter gears were odd pitches so had to be cut with home-made cutters. The smallest square headed nuts and bolts are M1.0 x.25 and the largest are 2-56 thread."

DID YOU KNOW?
DID YOU KNOW...? ...that we might one day use metal powders to fuel our cars?
You have no doubt seen solid fuels in action - any time you light a match or use a sparkler, you're burning a solid fuel. Powdered metals, like iron, can burn in a way that is smokeless and carbon free. But before you could fuel your car with iron powder, scientists need to understand the exact physics of how metal powders combust, in order to design systems to burn them efficiently.
Scientists are therefore doing experiments in microgravity in order to suspend the iron particles and observe how a flame propagates. Learn more about these promising future fuels here.
