Private Trust First Steps #1

Hi

I hope you're all well and working through the Private Trust Documentation we've been discussion over the past week or so.

A number of people have been really interested in moving forward with their own Private Trust and obviously many people have questions about where to start and what comes next.

I want to let everyone know that I am following along with the Private Trust creation and have decided that I'll go for a "Registered Limited Company" as one of the trustees.

For me there is an issue with my "home address" as it's a "non-residential" premises (Crick Marina) and often post that is clearly "not allowed" by AquaVista marinas, is simply returned to sender rather than placed in my allocated post box.

For cases like this AND maybe if you want to separate the trustee from your home address a service like Ghost Mail is a good option. This is what I'd do any way...

For £45 a year, they'll operate an address that can be used for the Company Registration at Companies House, and that price includes one director address. You can add directors for £23 a year.

Registering your company requires at least 3 pieces of personal information about yourself and your shareholders or guarantors, for example:

  • town of birth

  • mother’s maiden name

  • father’s first name

  • telephone number

  • national insurance number

  • passport number

It costs £12 and can be paid by debit or credit card. Your company is usually registered within 24 hours.

More on this process at the L.A.W. this evening:

From 6:30pm

All the best
