Food For Thought

  • Self-care: A 3-Step Guide to Believing in Yourself — Sheryl Lee Ralph, TED Talks

In closing, please note that establishing a professional self-care regime is also recommended during your time with us. Art Therapy techniques aren’t just for those we serve. They can be useful activities to shift toward a better mindset. Try these:

  • Identity Collage: Use photos, text, or drawing to represent “Who am I?” in different contexts.

  • Communication Mask: Decorate a mask - one side shows what’s presented to the world, the other reveals inner truth.

  • Boundaries Shield: Divide a shield into four parts (physical, emotional, time, mental). Represent each boundary visually.

  • Gratitude Tree: Draw or collage a tree, writing gratitudes on its branches or leaves.

  • Mood Collage Journal: Create collages from magazines or sketches that reflect their mood. At each week’s end, take time to notice patterns and triggers that offset your day.

This weekend, take some time to explore your creative side.
