ShortCode is 99% ready
Where’s ShortCode you might be wondering… well last week I sent the beta build of ShortCode off to Apple. It’s taking a long time to get reviewed and approved - which is a good thing as it increases the overall security of apps in the Mac Store. But I want to get moving and get you something to try!
So I spent the week figuring out how to securely distribute the beta build outside of the Mac App Store. I also fixed a number of bugs along the way. Suffice to say the beta build of ShortCode will be heading your way this week! I’ll provide you with a license key which will allow you to fire up the app and begin testing.
I’ll also be starting a Discord sever for bug reports, uploading screenshots, feature requests, and anything else you run into.
A few important notes on ShortCode:
All data is local. We collect NOTHING except verifying your license key info. That’s it. Anything you enter in ShortCode is your business - not mine.
ShortCode does not / cannot see or know what you enter into password fields online.
ShortCode does not listen to all your text input. It only wakes up when you type the $ sign which prefaces all snippet calls. If you enter a number after the $, ShortCode stops listening right away. All snippets must begin with a letter. Likewise, if you type an invalid snippet ShortCode ignores it and stops listening.
Many thanks for your patience.
