So I have no subscribers, but I must still write something
I'm simplifying my reading rundowns by switching to email, starting with a weekly roundup this Wednesday!
Frustratingly, I've spent my free weekends since Christmas wanting to write to people about my reading and not getting very far.
I have tried a number of different platforms on my own domain and come to the conclusion that what's going to work best for me is just to do email. Plain and simple. Everyone can process it in their own app. So as long as there's a web page to store archives, I'm happy.
So I don't need to set up any virtual servers or bespoke databases, I can just, write.
We'll see how it goes. My first weekly reading roundup will be drafted and sent out before work on Wednesday morning.
I think I'd like to use my Goodreads data, so I am going to resurrect my script from 2019 which pulled book descriptions and my reviews out of there and we'll go from there. It's not going to cost me anything until I hit a hundred subscribers, so I think I'm pretty safe!
