Reading Roundup: The 42nd week of 2025

This week, in a break from Fanfiction, I decided to revisit some Robert Heinlein. Specifically, I realised I’d never gone through the Lazarus Long material in particular.

So this week, I worked my way through Methuselah's Children, Time Enough for Love, The Number of the Beast, The Cat Who Walks Through Walls and To Sail Beyond the Sunset.

Of all of them, I think the first was probably the best; it read more adventure story than sex mad romp. Most of the rest are just weird - it’s hard to reconcile the Heinlein juveniles with the sheer amount of bonking that goes on.

I’m all for live and let live and these are an important part of the corpus, but I wouldn’t say it’s been a particularly delightful week between the pages.
