Restless 27 - Recent Posts and a line from Meiko Kawakami
Hello.
I’ve been updating my website—an incredible concert, another walk through Nagoya, birds, and some thoughts on the new year (again).
But how’s everyone holding up?
I recently came across a passage from Meiko Kawakami’s Breast and Eggs that hit home:
“Words and emotions vied for my attention but a couple of years too late. I was tired. Get out of my sight, all of you. I’m fine on my own. I was so tired. Even though I’d gotten nothing done.”
Lately, that’s exactly how I feel when I read the news. Tired, and maybe that’s why I’ve been spending so much time by the river, photographing birds. It’s refreshing and good for my mental health.

As I’ve mentioned before, I live near a river—or rather, three rivers. The Hatta River flows directly behind my house, while the Jizo River is about 700 meters southwest, heading toward Nagoya.
