Building your vocabulary:
Evergreen. Evergreen is the quality a story or pitch has if it can be reported now, or next year. It’s not time-sensitive, and is usually a larger project. If an editor asks you for a few evergreen ideas, these should be stories that can be shelved for a few weeks if something more time-sensitive pops up.
