I talked to Study Hall XYZ about science journalism stuff, where to find stories and how to get started!
A few things that aren't covered there:
- Negotiate a kill fee if you're going to be a bigger story (5+ interviews).
- Recognize that scientists aren't on your time-table. Some of them aren't ignoring you, they're just super busy!
- In addition to NASW, if you're trying to network with fellow science journos, check out AGU, National Climate Adaption, AAAS, and SEJ conferences!
