Benjy finally gives in. After weeks of nagging by his wife, he agrees to meet up with Dovid. Dovid was his elementary school classmate who he'd never had a relationship with, yet was in town now. He's going to take him to Morty's Kosher Diner.

Benjy's wife tells him that she has a premonition that this will work out well for him, "You might just become friends," she says. Benjy nevertheless asks his friend Chaim to call him at the restaurant at 9pm to give him an excuse to leave early if need be.

Benjy meets Dovid at the restaurant and very quickly realizes that just as he never got along with Dovid when they were young, they still don't have anything in common. So after about an hour of talking, Benjy is pleased to hear his mobile phone ring. He answers it, talks for a short time, then tells Dovid, in a very sad voice, "I've got to leave right away, Dovid. My zadie just died."

Dovid looks very pleased to hear this. "Thank goodness for that," he says. "If your zadie hadn't died, mine would have died in about 10 minutes."
