Ideas for SNC Futures
Dear Colleagues,
We write to share with you a record of the work carried out by faculty and staff at the AAUP workshop on February 13, 2024. In accordance with the BOT Chair’s communications with the faculty, directing us to work with the administration to address concerns about the sustainability of budget reductions, members of the AAUP designed this workshop to facilitate collaborative brainstorming about vital futures for SNC. Those present generated a set of categories capturing key areas of our mission and then developed ideas for expanding on the best of what SNC can offer in each area, with an eye not only toward quicker adjustments that would mitigate the damage caused by short-term financial constraints but also toward longer-term projects that would draw on the strengths of our community in order to meet the challenges of the decades to come.
