Many of your school finance departments will be asking for Department Budgets now! Please consider the SAGTA Academic Conference for 2024. This will be hosted in the KZN Midlands towards the end of June.

The first day (a Friday) is dedicated to listening to Guest Speakers; New Ideas and Topics; hearing about Best Practice from teachers. The day ends in a gathering and opportunity for networking.

The Saturday morning allows for workshops; or field trip or some GIS training. You select your area of interest. The estimated cost of the conference is R2 000,00.

If you are out of town, there are many B & Bs in the area (accommodation and travel - your own cost). If you want to make this a long week-end, we are easily persuaded to look at a Sani Pass trip on that Sunday (for your own account)!

For the 10th year anniversary of SAGTA (2025) we are looking at a week’s field conference in Namibia, based in Windhoek and including a desert trip. Start saving for that trip of a lifetime now! Estimated cost R10 000,00. A number of people have indicated that they would bring their partners as well! Travelling to and from Namibia is for your own cost; but we recommend the option of flying to Windhoek, the start and end destination of the tour.
