HAPPY NATIONAL DINOSAUR DAY!
Some calendars say National Dinosaur Day is today (May 15) and others put it on June 1. But hey, we can celebrate twice, right?
Do dinosaurs still exist today? In advance of National Dinosaur Day, Mattel surveyed 6- to 10-year-old children in Great Britain. Who better to ask? A third saying yes. Well naturally, these kids want a T. rex as a pet. There’s no word on how many wanted to be a T. rex, but maybe a bunch of them suppose that will one day be possible.
WHERE CAN YOU SEE ME?
Catch me on some upcoming panels! I plan to attend the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association’s Nebulas weekend May 20-22. I’ll be talking about alternate history such as my story, The Last Frontier, in Analog Magazine. I’ll also be on a slew of panels May 27-30 at Balticon. Some of these will be recorded for those following from home. I have at least two more appearances to announce before too long.
WHAT AM I WRITING?
I wish I could tell you all about a fun new story of mine that is slated to come out next year, but it’s a secret. All I can say is it features dinosaurs.
I’m also working on a sequel to The Next Frontier, which is running rather longer than I had expected. That's the story in which I added a woman astronaut to the Apollo program.
WHAT ARE YOU READING?
I’m always interested in what else my readers are reading. You folks have a wide variety of tastes. For those inclined toward science fiction and fantasy, check out these lists of Hugo and Nebula nominated works.
Until next time…
