The poster for the Northern Weird Novella event in Manchester. It lists the authors' names and has images of their book covers - The Retreat by Gemma Fairclough, Turbine 34 by Katherine Clements and The Off-Season by Jodie Robins - and also has the date (5 November) and time (6-7pm).

I am thrilled - FA-RILLED - to be chairing this panel in Manchester in a few weeks. I’ll be speaking to Gemma Fairclough, Jodie Robins and Katherine Clements about their novellas!

Wild Hunt Books have this year published 6 novellas, all of which make up the Northern Weird Novella Project.

I’ll be discussing three of these with the authors: The Retreat, Turbine 34, and The Off-Season. All three are haunting, weird, and downright spooky. So it’s perfect timing with us being fully immersed in spooky season!

Tickets are on sale now - they start at just £5, which is an unreal cheap price to hear three brilliant authors discussing their brilliant books.

And I’ll be there too!

In other me-related news, GREAT ROMANCES OF THE 20TH CENTURY received an incredible review this week - check it out here.

As the year winds down, we move towards 2026, which means the release of my first horror novel THE ONES WE FEAR. Keep checking back for more updates as and when I have them, including release date, cover reveal, and much more.

Fun fact about the broken ticket button above - if I remove the link the text stays in the red box and it looks good. If I add the link, the text comes out of the box. It’s a classic marketer problem: visuals vs effectiveness. In this case it’s pretty easy: it’s no good the button looking good if it doesn’t go anywhere. Adding in the link makes it look silly, but without the link it’s absolutely pointless. Substance over style baby! I mean ideally substances and style, but if you can only have one, have the link.
