Winter Finally Returns
Hello, Readers All,
A special shoutout to the 47 who got a look at the goods last week. Hopefully it was up to snuff and thanks again.
After two years with next to no snow, tonight we are getting a beautiful, gentle snowfall. We went out walking in it earlier and will be out in the morning.

Late last week my reads and earnings flat-lined and numerous other writers also found themselves either with no apparent engagement or with mysteriously suspended accounts. When I saw this, well, I may have jumped the gun. Just a little.

I’m not saying I’ll completely sideline Substack, but the sad fact is that even on its worst day, a story published on Medium is going to find many more readers than anything I post on Substack. That’s 100% on me. There are all kinds of guides and tips on driving engagement on Substack. I’m just too lazy to bother.
Remember, I write because I can’t not write. I’m not interested in marketing. If the stories attract eyes and interest, groovy. If not, I’ve got more!
Lots more.

Here’s a nifty segue: speaking of stories…and storytellers, it was sad to hear that David Lynch died this week. The Anomalous Duo has spent many hours immersed in Lynch’s truly unique world and AleXander created this tribute when we got the news.

So tonight we just watched “Eraserhead” with nightmares sure to follow!
In addition to the above haunting and evocative piece of art, my partner in life and art also wrote this frankly terrifying new poem this week.

And again this week, them’s the goods. I hope it hits a spot or two and thanks as ever for the support. The hat’s by the door and coinage is appreciated (although clearly I’m not in this for the money). {cheeky grin}
