The Goodie Bag

Hello, Readers All,

Look! It’s the end of another weekend and here I am with new stories. AND I dreamt the perfect extra goodies for paid subscribers - which Paid Subscriber Number One (PSNO) already received - and I do mean dreamt. It came to me in a dream. You’ll like it. Hell, I like it!

To the work.

Until the publication, Snapshots, began publishing my work I hadn’t considered myself any kind of photographer. I still don’t, and yet here I am, snapping away all around the city. This past several weeks it’s been the graffiti that’s been drawing my attention.

But is this stuff really art?

And speaking of the city, we’re seeing more and more bare faces out on the streets here in New York (including our own). It actually surprises me that about 95% of subway riders are still masking up like good little doobees.

And I need to get over myself

This piece has been percolating in the back of my head for a long time. It’s actually a conversation that Alexander and I have quite often and I’m pleasantly surprised that - so far - I’m getting positive responses. See what you think. Say what you think.

The crushing burden of being born with a penis

Still not writing any new fiction lately and instead of heading to the vault for older work, I decided to share something I seldom write and hate to read: advice. Only for the writers in the room, however.

We are not Entitled to Readers. Not getting read? It’s not on anyone… | by Remington Write | ILLUMINATION-Curated | Medium

Not getting read? It’s not on anyone but ourselves.

And AleXander’s been on a tear with amazing new work including this gem:

Exuberant Immediacy - aleXander hirka - Medium

On roller coaster rides  and during sex  we sometimes have to close our eyes — the immediacy is that powerful.

There we are. More new work and more to come. The hat’s by the door and many thanks, as always, to those dropping coins into it. That’s always a huge help and a nice nudge of validation that I’m not howling into the abyss. Usually.

Also check out the helpful blue link at the bottom of this email in case you’re interested in signing up as a paid subscriber - and getting the dream goodie bag!

I humbly thank you again for spending some of your limited number of hours reading our work. It makes having spent so many of our limited number of hours very worth the effort.

As always, feel free to shoot darned good ideas and third-grade jokes that had you shooting milk out of your nose in the school cafeteria to me at: Remington.Write@gmail.com

Until next week, keep the faith!

RW
