Swimming slowly
Hello, Readers All,
After serious consideration and further conferring with trusted advisors, beta readers, and premium subscribers, the decision was made to stay the course. Sort of.
You'll see. You'll get it. Hey, you've hung in this far!
In one return to form, I've revisited my buddy, Dennett's publication on Medium - Weeds and Wildflowers - with this piece. It was fun and I think I'll do more with this format.

Now that everyone is lulled by interesting photos and a quirky way of looking at them, it's probably time to switch things up a bit.
Commentary: Where They Died in New York City | Remington Write | NewsBreak Original
This makes a simple walk around the city a little heavy. On a Tuesday night in March 2013, three friends had come into the city to celebrate one of them turning 18. They’d been drinking and got on the wrong platform at 79th Street. Instead of going back up to the street to cross, pay another fare, and get on the downtown platform, they decided to quickly zip across four sets of subway tracks. One friend made it. One held back. The birthday celebrant made it halfway across before being hit and killed by an express #2 subway train.
But hey, there's always fiction! Special shout out to my partner in life and art for providing the cover art for this piece, btw.

And speaking of said partner, AleXander has published a new piece that our buddy, Sadie S. requested to publish in Counter Arts.

While having a hat by the door may be a bit passe and Not Done, I do it. You toss welcome coinage into it. We're all happy (and I thank you).
