Settling in, shoving forward
Good morning, Readers All,
Hitting about 15 weeks unemployed I’ve settled into my new “work” routine. I’d like to report I’m out of bed at o’dark thirty, raring to go and writing like a fiend.
That would be a lie.
My natural disposition is nocturnal and, left to my own devices, will be up until 2 or 3am. Generally after watching a movie with AleXander, I’ll be back at the keyboard. Then I sleep until my body decides it’s ready to get up and get back to work. Kind of wonderful, actually.
I’m putting in around 4 to 6 hours daily writing, publishing and promoting new work. In the course of doing that I have accumulated 1,295 readers on Medium. Two days ago, when I wrote the following piece, it was 1,281.

One Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty-One Readers | by Remington Write | The Partnered Pen | Medium
What did I write that you liked enough to follow me?
For someone who’s been writing and submitting work for nearly two decades with zero earnings and six published stories to show for it, this is something to be doing the Snoopy Happy Dance about and I AM!
My daily writing project, fictional obituaries continues. When I first got the idea from something AleXander wanted to try I’d thought these would be quirky, funny, or weird. Kind of like what Kilgore Trout would write (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilgore_Trout) if he wrote sci-fi obituaries. Instead they’ve stubbornly remained straightforward reports of fictional lives. Who am I to argue?
I took a chance and created a fictional obituary for the death of a fiction child this past week among the others written. Daily.

I’m one of the naysayers when it comes to curation by the editors at Medium…until a piece gets curated. Then it’s a whole different story. This piece, Learning Manhattan, got curated in Transportation. WooooHOOOOOOO!!!

AleXander’s idea for his latest piece came in a nightmare and he has some doozies!

I so appreciate your having subscribed to this little experiment. In spite of what I’d written privately to most of you, I won’t be setting up a two-tiered system with a paid subscription option any time soon. It’s more important to me now to get this baby grooved and keep providing readers with interesting stuff.
Feel free to let me know if I’m on track or not at:

Grazie! RW
