Where were you when the air turned the color of Tang on Wednesday, June 7? I work from home and was startled to look out the window to see that the air was orange. Not the sky. The air. That got people's attention for a day or two. But the AQI is back down to 25 so life goes on. Until the next shock to the collective noggins. Now, at least, we all know what an AQI means.
Now that we can breathe again - for now anyway - let's flutter our lace hankies and bid the dear old Sands Regency Hotel and Casino in Reno adieu. It was swell while it lasted but, oh man, will I miss those double-malted chocolate shakes at Mel's.

Hi, I’m Lance, just an average Spotted Lanternfly tooling around Central Park. It's nice here. I could get to like this place a lot. However, the fact that some yutz just tried — and obviously failed — to crush me brings me to my subject. I am here to express my admittedly somewhat queasy admiration for the apex invasive species of the whole frigging world. I know from invasive species — I’m like this with kudzu — and I have to say that you humans got us all beat.
