One Hundred Weeks and Counting!

Hello, Readers All,

Some of you have been reading along (at least I hope you have) for one hundred weeks now. Bored yet? Sick of the same old slog? Too bad. Because I'M not! I got at least another hundred in me. You up for that?

Good. And to celebrate 100 weeks of Buttondown newsletters, well, I'll run that down later.

First off the mark is something that never fails, photographs taken around Manhattan. At night.

And it’s never, ever the same

And running with the theme, a never-ending New York topic is neighbors. How does that work out in your part of the forest?

And to celebrate 100 weeks on Buttondown, I've set up an account on Substack. While it would be deeply groovy if you subscribed to that, too, I don't really count on that. It's not a weekly gathering of new work. It is a way for my best work to live independent of Medium, however. And this week, I sent the first essay I published on Substack to our premium subscribers.

Now it's your turn and it's a timely little sucker.

And I Wish I Wasn't

(Private note to editors at Substack: I'm ready for my 6 figure advance any time that's convenient for you!)

On Friday night, AleXander and I re-watched Michael Moore's classic "Fahrenheit 9/11". Here's his take on the Day The U.S. Insists On Playing The Victim Card:

There we are. 100 weeks of new essays and short stories in the can. At least 100 more to come. And the occasional rerun on Substack. We'll see how that goes.

The hat's by the door and your coins are especially welcome now that the gubmint has cut me off.

Thanks for hanging in there this week. I was more long-winded than usual but what the hell. One Hundred Weeks of doing anything merits a little backpatting.

Of course, yours are the backs that really merit the pats on the back. It's not like I'm going to toss my writing into the void. I get to toss it to you and often get great feedback. So thank you!

Remember to forward uncanny resemblances and disgustingly simple sentences to me at: Remington.Write@gmail.com

Signing off to think about what 101 weeks of doing this deserves.
