Of Ignored Rocks in Fields, Etc.
Hello, Readers All,
There will be more about yesterday’s excursion out to see “a rock in a field”, but here’s the rock in question:

While that rock is admittedly much older than me or any of the friends that came along on yesterday’s adventure, there’s some oddly mixed messages being slapped around lately regarding the value of us old farts.

And for those who aren’t so old, well, here’s some valuable guidance for the next “live shooter event” you may or may not be part of:

Which seems to be happening nearly every day now
Each week is another shining opportunity for me to haul out the old soapbox and see if I can get the tomato-throwers over at Newsbreak worked up. I’m thinking I might have been shadow-banned over there, however, as not a single tomato has been cast at this diatribe. Maybe I’m slipping?
Opinion: The Dead and Homeless are Engines of Profit
Homelessness and mass incarceration aren’t a mistake, they’re the point. To a certain subset of our population, the fact that nearly 90,000 rent-stabilized apartments in New York City are deliberately being left vacant while the number of people sleeping in the street balloons is not a glitch. It’s a feature. It’s the point.
Referring back to the first story this week (old people, death, etc), we got out to the glorious Woodlawn Cemetery this past week to scope out the foliage. My partner in life and art brought along the Go Pro and here’s the result. Enjoy!
And because you really can’t ever get enough of such a great topic, here’s AleXander’s new piece of the week. Again…enjoy!

Sing until you drop
Saving the “best” for last, after feeling some fever chills and general ickiness on the way home from the trip to see the rock in a field, I home-tested positive for Covid. No dire symptoms, but I slept most of today. AleXander went out for Chinese food and picked up more Covid tests and tonight’s test was negative. Who can tell? I’ll go out to the nearby urgent care center tomorrow and see if anything can be determined.
In the meantime, hat’s by the door with all the traditional well wishing, etc.
https://ko-fi.com/remingtonwriteThere we are. I generally tend to forget to check the analytics here, so I can only hope that someone who’s stuck with me all this time is still getting some entertainment or enjoyment. I am!
