Irons and Fires
Hello, hello Readers All,
Speaking of reading (as well as irons and fires, as in too many), I’m just finishing up my first reading of “The Master and Margarita” and it’s a total joy to read this book. Darkly, wickedly, savagely funny!

Not only have I seen the movie (thank you, AleXander for finding it for us) but will soon be seeing the stage production of it at Theater 86 on the Upper West Side. Reviews to follow!
So irons and fires. I seem to have a lot of balls in the air right now - madly mixing metaphors included - and am pretty comfortable with the pace. So far.
There is one new piece I published this week on Medium.

There’s also this retooled piece for Newsbreak that hasn’t brought out the pitchfork and torches gang (too bad).
Opinion: Roughly 8,992,114 New Yorkers Got Home Safely Yesterday
But way too many of you don’t clean up after your dogs. The helpful folks at the World Population Review tell us that the current population of New York City iseight million, nine hundred and ninety two thousand, nine hundred and eight give or take.
But in addition to these bon bons and the reading I’m enjoying so much, I jumped right into the deep end of writing something new and uncharted. I had a title, I had a bit of brainstorming and several false starts, then I just threw caution to the winds and have committed myself to the modest schedule of 500 words a day, five days a week. So back to it tomorrow with no idea where I’ll be by week’s end.
In other news, I received my second or third royalties from my books via Draft2Digital this week. Nothing earthshattering, but welcome all the same.

And while I’ve been busy behind the screen, my partner in art and life has been busy on his side of it as well. I really love this little gem.

I Don’t Think There’s Anything In That Black Bag For Me
The art is pretty fantastic as well, right?
Hat’s by the door and all spare coinage is profoundly appreciated (two writers, no jobs, you do the math):
