If I Were Into Analytics...

Hello, Readers All,

So I usually take a quick look at the previous week's analytics before starting each week's whatever this thing is that I do every week. If I were an analytics-inclined wonk, I'd furrow my brow and wonder how to turn the 65 people who opened last week's email into more than the 14 who read something in the email.

And if I were a total analytics nerd, I'd be working out how to get all 97 subscribers to open the email, read every piece, and become premium subscribers (hey, if ya don't put it out there...)

But because I'm not even remotely analytically inclined, who cares? I'll keep doing what I'm doing and feel lucky that fourteen people saw something that piqued their interest. Thanks, fourteen of you marvelous readers, you!

Referring back to one of last week's Newsbreak pieces, I'd recommend NOT bothering with the comments on this one. From the title alone you'll know what kind of garbage is in the comments.

Commentary: New York City Putting Migrants into Vacated Prison | Remington Write | NewsBreak Original

Hey, it beats some of the uses that were being proposed!. Back in June, the previously boarded up Lincoln Correctional Facility on 110 Street - curiously enough catty-corner across the street from the new Gate of the Exonerated into Central Park - was open and busy again. No cop cars or city correctional facility buses now, however. In 2019, the facility closed down and rumors swirled that it was going to be replaced with more luxury condos or maybe it would become a women's prison. No one really knew.

Somehow I thought this one might get some of that special brand of Newsbreak "love", but it hasn't. Go figure.

Opinion: The End of The Iconic Everything | Remington Write | NewsBreak Original

Want to do a classic spit take right out on 8th Avenue? Check out this window on 8th Avenue (it's still there). There are so many really messed up things about this display that I almost don’t know where to start. Almost.

Going back to Substack for this gem (yeah, I said that about my own work). Maybe it'll get some traction on Newsbreak? [cheeky grin]

And in case anyone hasn't been near Facebook this week or isn't friends with my partner in life and art there, well, he's still going strong!

Analytics aside, we're rolling along and delighted with what finds its way into the hat by the door. Ya'll are AWESOME! (I'm pointing that at one particular person and he knows who he is. Nuff said)

There we are, Readers All. Another week and more chances for ignoramuses to chime in on stuff they know nothing about (not YOU, I'm talking about those - ahem - commenters).

Where was I?

Oh, right. Kindly deliver any misbegotten throw pillows as well as all carefully delineated doilies to me at: Remington.write@gmail.com

(I am LOVING the emails, btw)

Time to get to it and thank you one and all.

RW
