Horse Latitudes

Hello, Readers All,

I've got the sails up but there doesn't seem to be much wind (with a sincere thank you to the ten of you who read something from last week's missive....you ROCK!). I'm not going to worry about it. I can always hitch a ride on a passing current and horse along until the wind picks up again. The important thing is to keep moving and this week has been all about that. And to better understand this delightfully obscure set of metaphors ask Wikipedia about "horse latitudes".

It's sadly true, however, that we aren't always happy about riding the current current.

You’re going to have to put your pants on and leave home again

However, there have been currents that we were 100% ready to ride and so was our trusty sidekick, Dali Dolly.

A Doll in the Weeds

Consider this story a gauntlet thrown at the feet of all true readers. Full disclosure: this is the first part of a three-parter that I wrote and then recorded. My partner in life and art, AleXander, uploaded it to his YouTube channel. The delicious thing about this story was that I didn't worry myself about where it was going. I just jumped into the deep end of a very deep ocean and - what else - went with the current.

This week's fiction offerings continue with something new from AleXander. I LOVE this story!

Life In The Deficit Column (A Moral Tail)

There's the hat by the door and all coinage is deeply appreciated.

Because I've signed up for several of these well-meant weekly newsletters from writers I like and admire - some of which I admit that I don't even open each week - I have stood in your shoes. Which makes the fact that anyone keeps opening these babies and clicking on stories and reading stories cause for wild celebration. I don't have a plan. I don't operate like that. I check the currents each day and then I jump in. And a surprising number of you jump with me. Amazing.

Time to get to work. Thank you.

RW
