If you celebrated The Big One, I hope it's been jolly. For those not of the tinsel and obligatory gift-giving persuasion, I hope it's been as peaceful a Sunday as we've had here in New York. Bitter cold outdoors and toasty warm in.
But snow? Not a trace, dammit.

As I've already disclosed, I'm reworking Medium pieces and publishing them on other platforms. The gatekeepers at one such platform got their knickers in a twist over the image that I used with this story. The short version: I got a "strike", appealed and won.

I began watching Russia Today during my long convalescence from the autoimmune disorder that put me in the hospital for two memorable weeks in 2004. The thing that struck me about this cable “news” channel was how few stories were about Russia and how many were about U.S. overreach around the world (plus the fact that the immaculately made-up young ladies presenting these stories all had posh upper-class English accents).
(Blatant bid for followers here: I'm up to 83 and once I hit 100 registered followers I'll get that big $25 I've earned so far on the platform)
Over on another platform, it seemed the appropriate day to spiff this one up and publish it given we had our third visit from a red-tailed hawk to the fire escape since I began putting seed out for the birds. Happy ending for all the little birds and again the hawk had to find lunch elsewhere. Whewww!
