Gearing up for Gearing Down
Hello there, Readers All,
Welp, my days as a worker among workers are winding down. The rent job I’ve had for the past two years and ten months will disappear at the end of September. It’s been a good gig and I’ll miss the structure and the paycheck.
But that job did get me to full Social Security age and I’ve applied to start receiving my benefits in September (we’ll see how that goes).
Maybe I’ll get a kayak and a dog and hang out on the Harlem Meer like this guy was doing last week.
More likely that I’ll get my writing shoes back out of the closet and get to work again.
With that in mind, I’ve tried out a couple of ideas and have to admit that one response to the piece on whether we are entitled to “rights” is enough to just egg me on (my response to such a bone-headed comment is to not respond to the - cough, cough - writer but to point and laugh here).
