Don't Get Me Started!
Welcome to my second newsletter and thanks to new subscribers! We're up to 19 subscribers and that's pretty happy-making.
This week I'm looking at ranting. Isn't ranting wonderful? Isn't listening to ranting a drag?
I once had a dear and wonderful and completely exasperating friend, Peter, who indulged in a number of what I referred to as “push button rants”. All you had to do was push the button of your choice and watch him go. Several of his all time favorites were How New York City Isn’t New York City Anymore and This Country Is Going Down The Tubes. Peter died several years ago and I wrote this piece to honor him and my other dead:

What Pete’s Missing
Some years after Peter died I realized that I, too, have some push button rants. Here are a couple but at least I do make the attempt to keep them entertaining.
Recently the company for which a close friend has worked for years pulled itself off the stock exchange and went back to being a private company. Button pushed: F&%k shareholders! Too many corporate decisions are made solely to keep shareholders happy and the happiness of wealthy (and even not-wealthy) investors has wrecked our world. My rants these days take advantage of Medium’s platform and here are a couple of my bitter, snarky pieces taking down the World As It is:

I'm also featuring one of AleXander's new pieces this week which ties rather neatly into my topic:

In short, there is no such thing as unlimited sustainable growth no matter how fervently the capitalists believe that.
And even with that ringing from my keyboard, here I am flogging away with my words trying to earn a buck. Failing that, perhaps someone would like to buy me a cuppa coffee:
