On girls and football

In primary school, boys shunned girls. At secondary, teachers only taught us hockey. At matches, fans yell sexist chants.

It's an uphill battle for a girl to like football.

None of this stopped my younger sister, though! She signed for Nottingham Forest in 2020, a year after the club dropped 'ladies' from the logo so it matched the mens'.

Considering the club pays £15.5m in wages every year, guess her salary.

Correct.

Nothing.

So, yeh. Last night, when the whistle went, I cried. The hype, the platform, the support: they mean more than the win.
