On that one hot take

I read a tweet and felt really sad.

Not because I think it's incorrect, necessarily, but because it frames life as a zero-sum game.

Viewing caution advised: here it is.

Are there really losses and gains to every decision made? How is building a career more worthwhile than nursing a broken heart?

They're both experiences of being alive.

I suppose I see it like this: sometimes life feels unbelievably enjoyable (falling in love) and sometimes extremely awful (falling out of love), and most of the time we're in between. Washing dishes. Tending to our lives.
