Recently, ULC Monastery posted this article asking if the dedication of a statue of Trump at Mar-a-lago was considered idolatry because it was gold, it was unveiled and it was blessed.

Full disclosure, that’s how I have my credentials, through them. Legally, it does allow me enough wiggle room to do what I need to do while telling government to get all the way fucked because nothing I do in the service to my gods is, and this is key, Any of Their Fucking Concern!

I’ve had a few people tell me to cool off the profanity in order to appear more professional.

This is me cooling the profanity.

Here’s the thing. I’m like you. I have a job, I bust my ass at it, government steals money from me regularly and only wants more, every day, I have many of the same struggles you do.

Let’s finally get back to this article. Is this Idolatry, which is what the article asks?

Okay, for the sake of argument, if you have a problem with a statue, and you’re going to scream about idolatry…but you come here, then I have some news for you.

So, if you feel so strongly about Idolatry, I have so many suggestions but I’m going to bring this to my point finally.

To me, the answer is flat no. The dedicated a statue. No one gathered to make offerings or worship the thing. They came to do a dedication. That’s it.

Go into the comments section. Commenting is a sign of which side you take. The comments section is ULC Monastery Ministers speaking past each other rather thoughtlessly.

The question isn’t whether the statue is idolatry or not. It’s another in the never-ending buffet of buffoonery of people still playing team sports.

That might work for The AFA, The Odinic Rite or The Troth but it will not work here.

Why do I not talk about politics any longer? Simple. Politicians are the enemy and I choose to take my power back from them. They tell me to file in order to do something and the answer is no because I do not need, nor do I desire licensure to exercise a basic right. I don’t sit in awe at figures in government, I sit in disgust and I will not give them anything that I don’t have to.

So when Donald Trump does something, Joe Biden does something, Bill Clinton does something, I don’t care because I’m too busy focused on the things that I can do something about.

I can’t do a goddamn thing about The Troth, Odinic Rite or the AFA and their bullshit. I can do this though and while it may not have their reach, the people they’re reaching are best left to be reached. Hopefully, when they get chewed up and spat out the other side, they will see that the major Heathen orgs are nothing more than Political Platforms wearing our faith as a skin suit. They want you to believe there’s no third option because they’re both running cults.

It’s not just my faith, look at that site again. Look at those comments. It’s literally everywhere. If you want to join in the fray, you can. Go right ahead, I won’t stop you. I mean commenting on that article, not this one.

Comment on this article and we keep politics out of it altogether. You can get politics with The Troth, The AFA or Odinic Rite. By all means, you may have them, I won’t go anywhere close to them. I treat them like Chernobyl, I know there are people living in and around the area but I’ll be fucked if I’m gonna be among that number. Good luck with that whole glowing in the dark thing.

People like this will tell you that ministries like mine “don’t exist” then when you prove that it does, they’re dismissive, then when you actually follow along, they get fuck angry at you.

That doesn’t sound like groups or administrations secure in their positions, it sounds like they’re threatened.

They are. They all are keenly aware now that Ideology got in the way of the work and now, the trust is broken and more and more people are leaving those groups. It’s literally one of two extremes, a bunch of fuckheads telling you that you have to be genetically-linked to a specific area of the world for this to work for you. I have to wonder if they’re issuing 23 and Me tests at the door or a bunch of fuckheads that, if the AFA said they liked oxygen, the Rede would start demanding we all wore plastic bags over our heads because our ancestors eschewed oxygen and the mental gymnastics will begin.

What’s lost in all of this? You.

Your needs are never addressed. Your movement through life won’t matter because you’re constantly trapped in their anxieties and you’ll constantly be under suspicion until the day you prove to their administrations one way or the other that you’re so fully on board that you’ll do any insane shit they hand down, you’ll be kicked out, punished or you’ll just eventually go, “Yanno what? Fuck this noise…” and that’s where I need to talk to you.

Because every bit of that shit, it’s noise.

Unlike most ministers who read a little something that conforms to their message and then presents it to you as holy writ, I’ll only speak from personal experience which I have detailed.

In fact, when someone uses the Lesser Banishing Ritual of The Pentagram (The LBRP), the point of that is to banish all the noise from the spirit world and create a quiet space to commune with your gods or guides, whatever that looks like to you.

Your Hugr will become what you feed it and if you’re feeding it constant up-to-the-nanosecond coverage on that politician you hate then you are giving your hatred far more power and the person you hate, you’re giving away your power to them too.

If you’ll clear a space for a working ritual, why won’t you clear your life? Why won’t you clear your screen?

Do you even have space in your own mind for something other than what you despise?

Listen, I listened to my own thoughts on stuff like this. When something and I don’t align, I’m not the kind of guy that spends all my time raging against it. It never worked and it’s not going to start now.

As your spiritual advisor, I advise you to go to a nature trail or walking path. At some point, turn the music off. Give yourself ten solid minutes of walking without bubbling yourself off. Just ten. Set a timer on your watch and just do it. Nothing special. You don’t have to make grand gestures. If you can do it longer, great, do that.

Clear your mind for once. You really need longer than a day, you need so much more than that and you owe it to yourself to clear your head and examine your thoughts in some form or another.

Case in point, Marcus Aurelius wrote in his book Meditations, in Book Two, the very opening, acknowledging that he was going to meet with irritable and often ungrateful assholes but he accepted it as part and parcel of what it was he did at the time and he did it anyway. His reputation was that of a man who had full control of himself.

Fuck, I don’t know about you but I want that. I really want that.

That’s why I’m reading his book, passage-by-passage, bit-by-bit, comparing the things he talks about to my own life and then deciding how I would respond to that parallel statement. When you truly want something, you’ll do what it takes to get it or you’ll accept the roads that the gods have opened for you. Thurisaz can be a powerful weapon to clear a path that’s otherwise blocked.

Keep in mind that some doors need to be closed, permanently. It is, in fact, for our own good. It may preserve the sanity or overall physical and mental well-being because your energies are meant to serve a purpose.

In light of that, that’s the question you now have to ask yourself. Are the things you hate really taking center-stage in your life, consuming your every thought and word?

You hardly need a statue for that kind of idolatry.

At least I can be honest about mine, though.
