How to Best Enjoy Ink Village: Your Quick-Start Guide
Come on over and play!
Dearest writer,
Ink Village has been thriving for a few weeks, and I’m overjoyed to hear how much you're getting from it. But if you're like some of us who get a little overwhelmed with new things (I understand completely! once I left a serger in its box for six months, overwhelmed by its complexity!), here's your simple guide to making the most of your Ink Village experience:
Getting Started
Join our Slack channel immediately - This is your central hub for all things Ink Village!
Check in daily (or daily-ish, like I do). The real magic comes from constantly being reminded that writing is doable (you see others doing it), which means you can, too.
Navigate the channels - Don't worry about the message volume (mark ‘em all read until you catch up!), but do take a moment to explore each channel and what it’s for. Here are 3 of my favorites:
The Clockmaker: Plan your writing week and month, set goals and intentions
The Village Square: Our general discussion space
The Village Well: Share your creative inspirations (come see what I did this weekend! what did you do?)
Pro tip: Check the pinned Slack tutorial video at the top of the Village Square to ensure you don't miss anything important
Set your intentions today - Share your writing goals for the week in The Clockmaker, and tomorrow we'll focus on a new month’s goals.
Writing & Support
Join our writing sessions - These optional but incredibly valuable sessions occur daily on weekdays:
Morning sessions (unhosted)
Afternoon sessions (hosted, with varying times)
Bookmark THIS LINK for easy access to all writing times
Using your membership benefits:
If you’re on an editing tier: Submit your monthly words anytime
If you’re on a coaching tier: Check your coaching calendar (contact me if you haven't received it)
Catch up on resources - Have you watched our first Village Crier Q&A? It's an epic 50-minute session, and the next one is coming this week! Find it in Question Corner.
I can't wait to see you there!
Onward!
